April 7, 2008 (Cincinnati, OH) -- Jon Justice will be releasing their long awaited sophomore album, "The Rebound", Friday April 18th at Covington's best venue for live music, Molly Malone's. Shyte Mcflyte, a newly formed Jazz/Blues Hip Hop Fusion group will be kicking off the night at 9:30 sharp. Make sure to bring your dancing shoes for these guys! Entry is FREE with the purchase of "The Rebound" and $5 otherwise.
The new release from Jon Justice is more representative of what he brings to the table as an individual as well as a songwriter and performer. Jon's first album, "Forget About Time", although very good, was admittedly slightly over produced. In his latest effort he has used his current touring band in the studio with him along with producer Phillip Wolfe and an array of great backup singers. This is in contrast to using such well known heavy hitters as Wayne Jackson of the Memphis Horns on the previous record. You are sure to get your money's worth with "The Rebound" as the total track count comes in at a very impressive 14 songs. "The Rebound" will be available at many of your favorite local retailers as well as at www.jonjustice.com but don't miss out on the very first opportunity to get your copy, Friday April 18th at Molly Malone's in Covington, KY.
Saturday April 19th will be your second chance to purchase "The Rebound" when Jon Justice will be doing an in store performance at the Sam Ash Music Store in Eastgate at roughly 3:30 PM. Later that evening they will be performing at Fries Cafe in Clifton.
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT JON JUSTICE
Winners of the 2007 Cincinnati Blues Challenge
Jon was nominated for 3 Cincinnati Entertainment Awards- "Best Blues", "Best Live Act" and "Best New Artist" in 2007 and was fortunate enough to take part in a Bootsy Collins (Parliament Funk, George Clinton, James Brown) Video - Bengal Rock - that was played before each home game at Paul Brown Stadium.
In 2008 Jon Justice represented the Queen City at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, TN. They have toured everywhere from Memphis to Austin to multiple cities in Florida so far in 2008 and show no signs of slowing down any time soon. A two week tour through California is slated for July and there are a lot of big festivals lined up for the summer as well.
The "Jon Justice Sound" is always pushing outward towards fresh expression, reverberating as it does with Justice's singular take on the events of the day and building inventively on the bedrock of influences to form the Justice musical juggernaut: hard rock, sensual soul, and heartfelt blues.
**CD's will be sent to all parties addressed in this email early next week when duplication is completed**
